Traditional Christmas tree. Fast growing evergreen conifer with shining dark green needles. Thrives on many types of soils. Is particularly happy in soils with a moderate or high acid content. Ht 15m in 20 years Picea abies Norway Spruce - A slow growing, cone shaped fir tree whose new needles are a creamy-white ageing to green by mid-summer. Ideal tub or rockery plant. Requires a fertile soil in sun. Ht 1m Picea glauca J W Daisy's white - A miniature form of the common Alberta Spruce. Needles are light green and very short and thin. Prefers full sun in well-drained soil. Ht 1m Picea glauca Laurin Alberta spruce - A medium sized, evergreen conifer with drooping soft, blue-green needles up to 15cm long. Large pendulous cones are produced on mature trees. Requires a fertile, woodland type soil in sun or light shade. Height 7m Pinus armandii Chinese white pine - Large, hardy, moderate growth rate evergreen. Prefers well drained soil and full sun. Tolerates drought when established. Ht 15m Pinus cembra Swiss stone pine - A large, moderately fast growing pine . Hardy, needs full sun. Ht 25m+ Pinus nigra maritima European (Corsican) Black pine - Ht. up to 35m. This species produces 2 sheath needles which are about 3-6 inches long and dark green. The cones are about 3 inches long. They are very hardy and will adaptable to soil, cold and wind. Pinus pinea Corsican Pine - Ht. up to 35m. Very hardy. They may turn red-brown in a cold winter, but will usually recover. Pinus sylvestris Scots pine Out of stock Conical conifer with long, drooping, blue- green leaves. Has smooth bark, grey- green on young trees, later fissured and dark with cylindrical cones. Requires full sun and well drained soil. Height 10m Pinus Wallichiana Bhutan pine - A slow growing pine whose green leaf-like growths resemble the spokes of an umbrella. Superb tub specimen. Requires a fertile, moist but well drained soil in sun. Height 2m Sciadopytis verticillata Japanese umbrella pine Out of stock Dense dark evergreen with bright red fruits attractive to birds in winter. Shade tolerant. Any soil and will thrive on chalk. Very hardy. Ht. 5m in 20 years Taxus baccata English Yew Out of stock A form of Yew which forms a broad shrub with coppery-yellow foliage. Can be clipped into topiary forms.Fertile, moist but well drained soil in sun or light shade. Height 2m Taxus baccata Corleys Copper Tip - A dwarf, slow growing Yew which forms a dense, narrow column of pale yellow leaves, which turn almost white in the winter.ÿ Fertile, moist, but well drained soil in sun or part shade.ÿ Height 1m Taxus baccata Icicle Yew Icicle - A narrow, upright, slow growing conifer with pale cream foliage.
